What is Through The Fog

I launched the first episode of Through the Fog September 15th of last year. At the time it was just me recording editing a creepypasta that I found on Reddit and then throwing a few sound effects and music in the background.

To my surprise right out of the gate, it was more successful than I had expected it to be. People seemed interested. The success caused me to decide to drop my YouTube channel as well as time spent live streaming on YouTube and twitch to instead focus 100% of my attention on my podcast.

I finished season 1 February 18th with 50 episodes ( one episode released a day for the entire month of October, once a week outside of October), some things that I wished I did differently, A lot of new skills and friends, and a much larger social media presence than I ever had before. 

Season 2 launched May 18th of this year and after a successful and popular first episode I decided to move to using actors as much as possible. So far this has been working but it's very difficult to manage actors when I cannot offer them any money as they are doing it in their spare free time and out of the goodness of their hearts.

At the same time attempting to profit off of something and not being able to offer anything in return leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I want to be able to pay my actors. And that is where you come in.

I have already poured a bunch of my own money into the show buying, hardware and software that I need in order to put it together, but I simply can't afford a recurring charge like that and I need assistance. I think that having actors that are paid and recurring would add a whole lot to the show which should help grow the show's following.

A larger following means monetization will be easier and it will allow me eventually to go full time and to create more shows like the audio drama that I eventually want to make. It could allow me to do YouTube again. Additionally, not instead of. I want to make the best show that I possibly can. I want to entertain and frighten. I want people to be excited for the next episode to come out and I want actors who are also excited for their episodes to come out.

I feel like I have accomplished a lot and I've come a long way since episode 1. But no man's. An island and indie creators require the help of their community more than large corporations and businesses. We count on our community to drive the show that we create. And though we do get satisfaction out of creating it, Make no mistakes that we create it for you. Through the fog is not my show. It's yours. It's always been yours right from the very beginning. And it needs your help to go to the next level.

Where will the funds go?

Money raised as I've stated Will go to hiring actors, In addition to acquiring more hardware and some additional software, it'll help pay storage and website fees a little bit of advertising on the side to help grow. The goal that I've said is not enough to take it all the way, but it is enough to get things started. All I'm asking is for help planting a seed.
